What are the exercises good for your spine?

Updated: Jul 26, 2020

Hi, my chiropractic fellows. Hope you have got good things to do over the weekend. Today, I introduce three exercises for helping your spine to work better in daily activities. Many people and even myself, working hard and unconsciously body gets sore.

Here are three suggestions for changing your life routine and being healthy.

1.Running(Treadmill)

-fast running 15 minutes on flat surface, treadmill(speed setting 8-10) help you strengthen core body and maintain spinal curvature.

2.Bike(stationary)

-at least 15 minutes on stationary bike or normal bike for core strengthening as well as building up hamstring and quadriceps muscles, which support your spine when sitting or standing for a long period of time.

3.Swimming

-warm up 10 minutes with spa and gentle stretching and do swimming, preferably freestyle or backstroke in early stage, breaststroke and butterfly in later stage. Due to using core body muscles including traverse abdominis, erector spinae, obliques, lateral lats, you can increase Range of Motion on spinal curvature without discomfort.

These exercises are commonly called triathlon exercises, which focus on boosting up energy levels and increase core strengthening and building up spinal muscles for maintaining homeostasis of our body.

Hope you can try one of three exercises from now, and start working on it and make a habit for living healthy and do your work and leisure activities in a best condition.
